Information for Universities of Applied Sciences (UASs)
The Dutch Vereniging Hogescholen (VH) has closed a buy out scheme with Stichting UvO on behalf of all their 36 Dutch affiliated universities of applied sciences (UASs): the Easy Access agreement (hbo), for the period 2021-2023, which has been extended to 2024 and 2025. As a result, the reuse of copyrighted material within Dutch universities of applied sciences (UASs) is easier than ever.
Terms and conditions
Teachers at Dutch universities of applied sciences (UASs) that are affiliated with VH can reuse up to 50 pages from a publication, provided that this is no more than 25% of the original publication. For example, from a book of 200 pages, you may reuse 50 pages (25%) and provide them to your students. This 'reuse' has been compensated by your UAS. This applies to both printed and digital material. You can also include up to 50 images in PowerPoints.
